Stars Are Insane - Waiting For Calm & Then Letting Go CS

Stars Are Insane is a long running recording project by Mike Andriani, owner/operator of the lovely Rok Lok Records. Mike brings us another Stars Are Insane offering in the form of an album called, Waiting For The Calm & Then Letting Go.

Upon first listen, the title of the album describes the music perfectly. It's like all the clutter/stress of 2020 has been captured in a helium balloon and there's string tied around your wrist that connects you to it. After a little introspection, you're able to untether yourself from this mess of a year and watch it float away. It feels like day one of a new chapter.

Sonically, this album captures everything that's great about obscure lo-fi bedroom projects. It reminds me of those late nights when you're really on to something musically that's so groundbreaking that you wish you could share it with the world. To me, this album captures those special moments and thankfully Mike documented his. With this album specifically, you get massive doses of shoegaze, indie, and ambient influences that create the journey described above. It's a perfect medley of everything your ears need.

Anyways, this album is limited to 32 cassettes and is available as a digital download. Go show some love/support for Stars Are Insane & Rok Lok Records.
